The goal of Ed’s Talk is to provide a platform for open dialogue and education on financial empowerment, leadership, and community-building. It aims to equip participants with the knowledge and tools needed to overcome financial barriers, foster personal and professional growth, and build stronger communities.
How We’re Doing It – Detailed Plans
Topic Selection: Each session focuses on relevant themes such as financial literacy, entrepreneurial skills, funding, leadership, and navigating systemic barriers.
Expert Speakers: Engage thought leaders, industry experts, and community mentors to lead discussions and workshops.
Interactive Sessions: Combine lectures with Q&A sessions, group discussions, and activities to foster engagement and understanding.
Resources: Provide participants with educational materials, tools, and actionable plans for implementation after the sessions.
Feedback Loop: Conduct post-session surveys to refine future talks and ensure alignment with participant needs.

Frequency: Held bi-weekly
Duration: Each session runs for approximately 1 hour.
Any Fees Charged?
No fees are charged for attending Ed’s Talk. It is a free initiative to ensure accessibility for all community members.
Most of the sessions are also virtual to make sure Albertans have access to the programs
Beneficiaries and Selection Process
Beneficiaries:
Youth, young professionals, not for ppprofit owners, and underrepresented community members, particularly from Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) communities.
Selection Process:
Open to the public but prioritized for those referred through our community partners, such as Dexteritas.ca and The Africa Centre.
