A Financial Literacy Program for Youth (Ages 14–19)
Money & Cents is a youth-focused financial literacy program created by the Financial Empowerment Initiative (theFEI) to equip young people with the knowledge and confidence to make smart financial decisions.
Designed for teenagers and young adults ages 14 to 19, this program provides practical, real-world financial education that prepares participants for independence, post-secondary education, employment, and entrepreneurship.
We believe financial literacy should start early — not after mistakes have already been made.
What Youth Will Learn
Money & Cents covers essential financial topics, including:
- Budgeting and money management
- Understanding credit and credit scores
- Debt awareness and responsible borrowing
- Saving strategies and goal setting
- Banking basics and financial tools
- Taxes and understanding income
- Introduction to investing
- Financial decision-making for young adults
Sessions are interactive, practical, and designed to meet youth where they are.
Why It Matters
Many young people enter adulthood without the tools to manage money confidently. Money & Cents helps bridge that gap by building financial awareness early and encouraging responsible financial habits that last a lifetime.
Our goal is simple:
To raise a generation that understands money — not fears it.
