On Saturday, September 21st, 2024, the Financial Empowerment Initiative (FEI) held its highly anticipated Money and Marriage Seminar at Chappelle Gardens, Edmonton. This engaging event brought together couples, individuals, and financial experts to explore the critical intersection between finances and relationships. With hot amala served, participants enjoyed a warm meal while diving into essential conversations about financial wellness in marriage.
The seminar, attended by an enthusiastic group, featured insightful talks by prominent speakers, including Shayla S. Dube, founder of Wellness Empowered, Noreen Sibanda, Executive Director of the Alberta Black Therapists Network, Levar Saul, Bank Manager at TD Bank, and Dickson Maiden, a Life and Money Coach. In attendance was also Sam Juru, the Executive Director of Africa Centre.
Throughout the event, couples learned practical tools for managing their finances as a team, focusing on areas such as budgeting, debt management, saving, and building a financial future together.
